Give me some ideas for a decent scope for this rifle. I would probably stick to a 1" tube and it will be used for plinking, pest control and an occasional unlucky squirrel. Don't wanna break the bank. Maybe a Leupold 4.5-14 with adjustable objective? Don't really want a huge 30mm tube or larger than 50mm objective.

That's a great choice. But I'd think the Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x40 would be plenty for a rimfire.

I would of said a basic 3-9 or 4-14 until i shot an accurate CZ varmint with a high magnification FFP tactical target scope. I then saw a whole new world and was hooked. I started researching and eventually set up a NRL22 base class rifle. Ive never enjoyed any rifle this much.

Don't overlook something like an Athlon Ares BTR Gen2 with 30mm tube and 50mm objective. I know you said thats not what you want, but i cant explain how awesome that CZ MTR would be with something like that. FFP, paralax/focus down to 10yd, mil/mil reticle and adjustments, you would be amazed how much fun plinking becomes. Vermin and squirrel beware, too! Parallax focus down to 10/15yd or even 25yd, for rimfire, is important. I never knew until i was shown. Do what you please, but just wanted to share my experience. I would of missed out on a ton of fun if someone wouldnt of shared this all with me.

Athlon
Arken
Vortex
There are other good quality entry level scopes like described above. If any of this sounds of interest, send a PM and would be glad to help more.

Enjoy that rifle. Should be a real shooter!

This, every bit! 👍🏼

For the Op.....I have one 457 MTR set up with a Sightron SIII 8x32x56 for punching small dots at distance. I also have an Athlon Argos (bottom of their line) 10x40x56 on a 455 for the same thing. I had an Arken EP-5 but it was almost as heavy as my rifle (sarcasm but really heavy scope) and the FFP wasn't to my liking. If the OP is gonna stick to what he posted, a good 3x9 or 4x12 with 40mm AO and/or parallax adjustable down to 10 yards or so would work well. Do a web search for rimfire scopes OR air rifle scopes that will likely have parallax set for under/at 50 yards.

I put a V16 Weaver I had on the rifle for now. Looks really good and may stay there unless I get itchy to change to something else. The squirrels around here better be gettin a little nervous…..well, a lot nervous…
I've got a v24 on a 452 and they're hard to beat as long as you won't be dialing up and down all the time
