Dang It! Forgot start date

Putting up a trail camera today, I got out of my truck and there was a tom standing just 20yds from me. Bow on the back seat.
No fear, just looking, and I couldn't remember the turkey archery start date!
For some reason 15 Oct was sticking in my mind, and not 24 Sep, start of regular bow season. As I wasn't positive, I let him walk. I hate learning lessons like that.
That is one lucky bird.

You might get another crack at one later. I'm gonna try to hunt the regular Fall turkey season. It opens late this month.

You're right, he didn't appear on that Sat or Sun.

bring out the shotgun this weekend. If you can bring yourself to set the bow down. Which is hard to do

I have Army Reserve this weekend. It will be nice to have free time next week when the temps hit 87! Yuck.
