It has consumed my thinking. Every year about this time, I get antsy waiting for turkey season. Out of all the hunting I do, this is by far my favorite. The original game of chess and each year I get better at playing the game.
I don't recall what I had for breakfast yesterday but I vividly remember the first bird I ever killed that you called to the end of my gun barrel and that was 30+ years ago. Best time of year!
Yes sir!!! Good times for sure. That bird didn't know his life was over once he made that turn toward the decoy.
I just remember us hunting on the other side of the road all morning and when we got back to the house my great uncle said there's a bird across the road been gobbling his head off all morning. We ended up roosting him that night and killed him within 10 minutes of flying down the next morning. That hooked me for life! That piece of the farm went to my mom and uncle and long story but unfortunately they sold it.
