Daytona 500

Haven't watched one in a long time but found myself watching the start. Of course 10 or so laps in it rains so I turned the tv off and went to the barn to do more sanding on a trailer. Caught a little more toward the end but didn't see the checkered flag. I did go to it in 2016 and that was fun!

Last 20laps we pretty good - crazy wreck(s) I am amazed at the amount of damage those cars can take and the driver walk away. Still like the old races better though.

Those last 20 laps at Daytona and Talladega are always exciting.

Restrictor plates were the start of a downfall!!!!
Yesterday was the first laps I've seen in over a decade!
When a race is in stages….. zero appeal!
Build a car that meets rule specs……. Race to 500 miles, best…fastest car wins!
All this other crap sucks…. No wonder it's been over 10 years since watching

Why? It appears to me it causes the drivers to push for the extra points instead of hanging back half the race.
