This buck is a shooter in my book but Id rather get his dad!
How old do you think he is?

Correct...I should have been more clear. I was asking about shedding velvet. I pulled some pics a few days ago and deer in my neck of the woods still have a good bit of growing yet before they strip velvet. Was just wondering if yours were shedding velvet already.
 
Ohh sorry, I misread the "this early" part. In that case no they don't, the two pics of the big buck are from last year in the same spot. I posted them on here last year as well. I just thought they resembled each other, enough that they are probably relatives. The one from this year has a smaller right side and small points towards the end of the main beam just like the last year deer.

Just read over the first picture of the bigger one. I can see how you would miss the caption over it, it doesn't stand out very well. It also has a typo :P

It could be but I really doubt it. If it is maybe he hasn't finished growing this year Even then he would have to have went downhill a bit (of course that is very possible). Either way Ill be happy if I even get to see him!

Any guess on the age?

Still early to age them but I would have no problem saying he that he likely 3.5. Your big guy was 4.5+ last year. It could very likely be the same buck too but it will be more clear in another month or so. I hope you get an opportunity at him or them.
