835 garbage?

I don't have any problem with any mossberg … BUT if I could say something to them . They could make the pump action so that they don't rattle like they do. You don't have that rattle in a Remington 870
That's my only problem with the mossbergs
The rattling is part of owning an 835 i believe they all do , once i got tired of the rattling i went with a 935, it kills them just as dead, and no rattles!

Fightin words around here. Every turkey I've ever killed going on 23 years of hunting them has been down the bead of my 835. When I say you couldn't give me a gun to replace it, I mean it. Mines been beat, submerged, ran over, used to clear paths, used as an oar, been frozen, fell over, dropped, dirty, abused…. And functioned better than new every single time. No shotgun made could handle the abuse an 835 will take. I shoot 3" shells in mine, I don't think the recoil is any different than 3" shells in my 1187 that flash rusts if it whiffs outside air. The safety location is so much better than the Remingtons, same reason I went mossberg for my home defense gun. And rattles? The tiniest bit of paying attention resolves any rattles… but then again I drive a 97 f350 daily so maybe I'm desensitized a bit. One thing for sure, Donald Trump was right when he said the 835 was the greatest turkey killer ever produced.

I thought at one time I wanted an 835, but my 870 with a carlsons longbeard xr choke and longbeard xr ammo throws a pattern that looks like a gas station punch board, so I didn't see the need to try achieve better... plus the fact I had owned a 535 that felt like Mike Tyson slapped you ever time the trigger was pulled, helped in not ever getting one. nowadays it's a Stevens 301 I let do the talking

No one fully understands a "kick" unless they have shot 3.5" out of a 535. 835 has nothing on them! And YES 835's kick hard!

The only thing that has turned me off of 835s is the safety. Every person that I have hunted with that owned one at some point the safety gets flipped off by rubbing on vest, decoys, body when moving through the woods. After the first, I walk behind and flick it back down when it happens.

I love the safety, thats main reason i fell in love with them, i hate a trigger guard safety. Ive never had one take its self off safety before🤷 ive hunted with them since the 90's

I've never heard of that happening.

In my experience and everyone I know that has one, the Mossberg shotguns are built like a tank. Had to add shotguns, because I can't say much for their rifles.
