In order to NOT hi-jack another thread, I was just wondering what you consider a "poser" when it comes to hunting anything??

37 truck decals with different game animal silhouettes, wears camo and kneeboots around town opening weekend, hunts for a couple hours then quits going because "they're henned up" or "aint moving good yet" or "hadn't made it down this far yey" etc.

Someone who wants everyone to think their all into something. They have all the gear, stickers, shirts, hats, visors etc etc. . Said person barely hunts or is so ineffective that they're just in the way of others who take it seriously.

I hate the posers who talk the talk and have stickers or camo hats or jackets or whatever and they say they're gonna go hunt and kill something and then in the course of the season they MIGHT go hunting one time. Seen it more than once and it kind of annoys me. In addition to what I see mentioned, I also consider someone somewhat of a poser that acts like they are a big accomplished hunter but yet they cant get it done with any consistency at all on their home turf in areas like I live where we have low deer and turkey numbers. So they are always leaving to hunt in Mid TN, West TN, KY, etc. and thats where they get their game. Im not saying that because they go hunt other places, Im saying that because they have to go hunt better numbers in order to get anything consistently.

You guys are killing me... So basically all the guys that aren't as hardcore hunters as they would like to think they are... My guess is if that's the definition of a poser most on this site are a poser.. In more than one aspect of life.. Some probly have three or four hobbies, that they are not actually participants of, just posers..
Many ppl would love to think they're great hunters. But most simply lack the drive to be that. To be a "great" hunter requires a huge commitment, and is physically and mentally exhausting! I don't think that makes them a poser, just means they lack the ability to do what they wish they could. It's just annoying to more serious hunters, because they think they shouldn't be there if they aren't like them... And as some have said they get in the way, and occupy land that some think they do not deserve....
But really what is a hardcore hunter? Or great hunter, or whatever it is that you should be?

Different topic is what is a hardcore hunter this is about posers and yes they're in the way. Not often because they infrequently leave the house

Not offended.. I guess I just don't see as many nonhunters posing as if they are... I do see a lot of folks that only hunt once or twice a season, but would like to think they are as serious about it as anyone..
I guess this is more frustrating for guys that regularly hunt public land...
