Definition of a poser?

The posers I know are very accomplished killers...They want everyone to think they are the best hunters around but actually they will kill by whatever means needed, bait, road hunt, whatever...Lots of them like to make videos too and try to get on TV and most definitely on You Tube.. I often see some of them sitting in hunting booths at shows like the NWTF and they also have pics plastered all over FB. I just laugh and go on when I see them....I have absolutely no respect for people like this..
 
pos.er1 (po-zer) noun: 1.) One who poses. 2.) A poseur.

pos.er2 (po-zer) noun: A baffling question or problem.

poser (peuza) noun: 1.) A person who poses. 2.) A person who likes to be seen in trendsetting clothes in fashionable bars, discos, etc.

poser ('pueza) noun: A baffling or insoluble question.
 
I also view posers to be the "you're not doing it right because you're not doing it the way I approve" guy, the "you're not a hunter because you're not primitive enough" guy, and the "you're not a hunter because you didn't start when you are 4" guy. I'd also like to add the "you're not a hunter because you get paid, have sponsors, and I'm really jealous but won't admit it" guy and the "you're not a hunter because you dare to disagree with anything the TWRA says" guy.

I agree with some of that Roost. I'm related to a guy that is an accomplished killer. I honestly don't know what means more to him - hunting turkeys or making sure everyone knows he kills them. And he typically breaks the law at some point to get one. i.e. trespassing, killing more than his limit, etc...and yeah he wants to be on tv lol.

I'll also say that its ok to feel accomplished of your hunt and share with friends via video or Facebook. ....i think a hunters reasoning behind posting on social media is where it gets tricky. Are you proud of your hunt and want to share? Or are you trying to project and maintain an image?
 
If you are legit it's cool to post and share but if you just rolled the window down on one or blowed him off the corn pile, who cares... Guys I am talking about will kill at all costs...

Have the utmost respect for these guys.. They also may or may not get there limit but if they don't its prolly due to good reason.. Harold Knight is prolly one of the best..... Nothing fancy about him either, actually he would rather fish.
 
Wouldn't have guessed Harold to prefer fishing over turkeys. I can remember watching their videos with dad when I was a little boy and thinking how good they were at hunting turkeys
