First in a while not taking something . Could of killed a decent six point but decided on letting him grow a little . Took a decent nine point last year that I should have let pass along with a mature seven point kinda busted up . Hadn't seen much to be honest but what bothers me is my desire to go . I get up only to talk myself out of going . May be better necks year 😉
So glad I didn't hear of any of you having any accidents, maybe all these guys expressing to wear harnesses helped . Congratulations to all I might have missed !!

I hunted 3 weekends and that's it. Seems I spend more time prepping for the season than I do actually hunting it. I just chalk it up to being at the stage of life I'm in and have other things besides hunting that take some of my time too.
I am about 50/50. I acquired a brand new lease with about 14 other guys so I was driven to somewhat prove myself this year but as the season wore it got harder and harder to drag out of the bed at 0400 and make an hour drive. The last three weeks my mind has shifted towards QDM and 2025. It's all pleasurable to me whether I'm 20 feet up a tree or examining a topo map and clearing out limbs. I've too have lost a step though.

I missed most of the morning hunts. I made a couple. I would get everything ready and once the alarm went off. I would decide to sleep instead of get up and go. I made way more afternoon hunts. When you're not seeing anything. And even trying to think outside the box. With zero results. It makes it very hard for me to wake up early and hunt. All public land of course. That's why I love the quota hunts we go on every year. All of us camping and having fun. Telling stories about the day. I make every morning hunt then. But same as statewide hunts by myself usually harder to go.

I know what you mean Snake about motivation especially when you probably aren't going to see a single deer. I was only 50/50 going the morning I killed my best buck! So, you never know what might show up. So keep the faith Brother! If God gets you up, then go!
