Just finished up the display for Jaxon's 2nd bird from last year, still have to add a photo to the bottom of the panel. Really wish I would have caped his first bird out now, turned out better than I thought it would. Door came from Hobby Lobby and worked out great.

Shoot that's real nice. I'll have to piggyback off of you because my wife says "most turkey mounts are ugly" but this one she said looks good!

I think you could make one out of barn wood that would look better, I just didn't have any available to work with. Thanks for the comments.

Looks great! I have one similar but I built a shadow box and mine's under glass. I hung mine with the tail down.

Fairchaser... Pretty simple. Skin the hide off, trim away all the meat you can off the cape, rub it down with Borax, tack it down during the drying period, and you're good to go. When skinning you'll see what looks like a vertical down each side of the neck going from head to body. This is your cut line for separating the back of the hide (the part you want) from the front. Be careful skinning because the hide is pretty thin.

Thanks Mike. I usually use combination of borax and salt to tan the beard. Glad to hear that works as well for the cape.

No need to do anything to the beard. Just grab it at the base and pull it out of the chest. It will come out with no meat at all.

Wow, that is very neat looking. I wish I was semi-creative in coming up with ways to displays my son's kills.
