About a month ago I decided I wanted to get me a rod dedicated to the type of striper fishing that I love so much. I contacted our very own Sniper (David Tenney) on here to let him make it for me because I knew he was in the custom rod making business and had heard other guys on our site talk favorably about theirs. He is the owner and builder of Droomvanger Rods. Let me tell you, Sniper is a great guy to deal with and you are only limited in what you get by your imagination and budget. I felt like his price for what I was wanting was very reasonable. Great communication and customer service.

What he made for me was a 6'6" medium/heavy rod with fast tip and all cork handle. Every spec and detail was exactly what I wanted. He even customized it for me as I wanted with a small striper decal and a "Striper Stick" decal as well. Looking closely at the guides, seats, handles, and wraps, I don't think you would ever be unhappy with the quality of work that Sniper does.

Yesterday I finally got to fish it for the first time since I received it a few weeks ago. It didn't disappoint. I only managed one rockfish and it wasn't a really big one at 13 pounds but the rod was perfect. Can't wait to test it out on a real beast! It cast and feels great! Thanks David for putting together a really nice rod that hopefully if I don't do something stupid will last me a long long time.

Oh yea, also caught a gar! That was a first while striper fishing!

Here's a few pics
