MrD1's thread got me thinking about wading, and I did not want to hijack his thread. Anybody wading the Duck River in Maury County or Marshall County? I grew up wading and floating the Buffalo River, but I really don't know much about fishing the Duck River. Does the Duck have mostly rock bottom like the Buffalo? Or is it more muddy bottom? If it is shallow enough to wade, is there a particular mark on the river gauge, Columbia or Milltown, where it gets sketchy?

Just curious as I am always looking for a new fishing spot I do not have to drive an hour to. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you want to share info but don't want to share publicly. I tried to keep it to general questions, but the less info out there for the world to see, the better.

You will need definitely want to invest in a canoe or kayak. You can wade in areas but you will not be able to cover from hole to hole without swimming or getting on the bank for a long stretch. That is of course a limited area of Marshall and Maury County, I am not sure the closer you get to Normandy how it is.

That is what I suspected due to the dams at Riverwalk Park and Milltown. A boat is on the shopping list but cannot make it happen at this time, so it sounds like I will stick to stomping around in the tried and true places.
