Is the hunter a friend of yours?
Dont ever know those old mountain deer travel long distances.Probably not even close to the same area then. The deer I was hunting was hanging out not far from a forest road.
Nope, don't know the man.Is the hunter a friend of yours?
It could be, too bad I didn't have a trail camera photo of him!Dont ever know those old mountain deer travel long distances.
This is my buck, but I'm new to posting here. Once I figure it out I'll add more photos.
Any story to go with it.I'll confirm, yes it was on Big Frog. My legs can still feel the walk in and the pack out lol
I heard his awesome sister and his dad went to check the trail camera and that's where they first got sight of him. He tracked him down 3 days later!Any story to go with it.
Everyone needs a sister like that lol.I heard his awesome sister and his dad went to check the trail camera and that's where they first got sight of him. He tracked him down 3 days later!
He might agree with that sometimes.. But probably not too often.Everyone needs a sister like that lol.
Welcome to the site "awesome" sister, heck of a deer!!I heard his awesome sister and his dad went to check the trail camera and that's where they first got sight of him. He tracked him down 3 days later!
Must of been pretty remote, they quartered it and packed it out.
Congratulations on a fine deer!!!Everything is on my Facebook and Instagram. Matt Hyatt (captainapp365)
It took some rigging with a strap and constant readjusting, but I eventually got it out lol My dad, sister, and cousin met me in the area and split the meat between their backpacks. Shot the deer at 9 AM. Made it back to my truck at 5 PM.the pics I saw that were sent to me from Facebook looked like the head wasn't strapped to the pack. Grainy pic from being forwarded, so hard to tell. I don't know why anyone would drag a whole deer out anymore, lot easier to quarter and pack. Whitetails are a lot lighter than elk, that's for sure.
I can assure you, that's the face of one tired dude I don't like being the guy the mark out a background, but this would be a recognizable spot.It took some rigging with a strap and constant readjusting, but I eventually got it out lol My dad, sister, and cousin met me in the area and split the meat between their backpacks. Congrats on a great mountain buck. Hope you didn't mind me posting the pic on here. Alot of hunters don't know how hard it is hunting those mountain deer. Every hunter needs to experience mountain hunting at least once. This is my buck, but I'm new to posting here. Once I figure it out I'll add more photos.
No I don't mind at all. A buck like that deserves to be seen. I agree, mountain hunting is definitely an entirely different world. I won't even get started on how tricky the mountains can make turkey hunting. But I love those mountains. They're rough, but all the effort is worth it, and there's no place I'd rather be.Congrats on a great mountain buck. Hope you didn't mind me posting the pic on here.
