Is there a difference in hunting with:
. . . . . . . .
Is there a difference between SHOOTING paper targets at a range
vs.
HUNTING live game in the wild
vs.
KILLING a pig in a poke?

Too many "afield" don't seem to understand the differences
and seem to want to make killing & hunting (for themselves) as easy
as shooting paper targets at a range?

You play golf?
Why shouldn't we just be allowed to walk over and drop the ball in the hole?
Why we got to hit it with a club?

The answers come with understanding and accepting the challenges.

Most "sports" are all about accepting a particular challenge.
There is nothing hard about hand-dropping a golf ball in a hole,
and there is nothing hard about just killing a turkey.

Some find the challenge of playing golf or traditional turkey hunting an enjoyable challenging "sport".
Others find they're either unwilling or unable to enjoy playing by the rules,
so they try to change the rules for everybody?

Meanwhile, my thinking with turkey hunting is we may have too many "rules" and just not enough individual "ethics".

But I should add, many the lines are blurry, and there are big differences between hunting turkeys in an expansive hardwood environment with thousands of acres to roam (legally),
compared to "hunting" turkeys on the typical 15-acre tract (half of which is "a" field)
which may be the more "average" circumstance to the average person "afield" in TN, trying to kill a turkey.

On a personal level,
my hunting tactics differ (of necessity) when I only have 15 acres to hunt compared to 150 acres compared to 1500-plus acres.

No one asked for any thread to be shut down. I deleted it when it became a escalating back and forth bs fest.

This was an obvious troll post, so it will get the same treatment.
