I never use to wear one for probably 25 years.also nobody ever heard of one back then. I do now though and have for several years. Wonder if anyone has been killed because they used a harness. I've heard stories of people getting hung upside down and dying. But never looked into it.

I know they are aggravating but think of the consequences....I've fell a couple times but the Lord watched over me . One I was hanging a stand and the other a step pulled loose . I believe I broke my ankle but never went to the doctor....it flares up still and that's been close to 20 years . Hunted on crutches I rented in Pulaski a day or two .

Yep. I was Climbing up last Friday morning and my 3rd stick turned on me. I didn't have it strapped tight. Slid about half way back down the tree. Thought i was gone til my line finally caught.

I use a climbing harness or a saddle every time I leave the ground period, if I cant I dont climb.

With the comfort of rock climbing harnesses and a tether I don't understand why people are so hesitant to use one

Also if you hunt alone or in areas where people may not know where you are hunting I highly suggest a rock climbing harness with a short tether over a traditional harness it they turn you towards the tree instead of away if you fall

Also make sure if you are in a area you have cell coverage make sure your phone is somewhere you can actually access if god forbid you do fall

I use a rock climbing harness I've got a safety harness also but the rock climbing harness is more comfy to hang from when I get sick of sitting on the seat of my lock on. I fold up the seat and use the platform with the rock climbing harness like a saddle
