Fall Turkey Hunting

Growing up in western PA we would do our best to find and then bust up a flock. Then get in the middle of them and call softly. I don't know if that works here but it might be worth a shot.
I'm kinda wondering the same thing too.

look and listen where they roost in the evening. set up early to where they might fly down. busting them up works well in fall using soft yelps and the kee kee. Im excited about the fall turkey season this year. Calling in longbeards can be done but you are up for a challenge.

birds have been pretty easy to pattern at our farm. they are roosting consistently in the same spots as the spring and using same travel routes. just learn the turkeys patterns and you'll learn the best place to setup. i've never personally busted a flock, quite a few recommend it though. Long beards in the fall = PATIENCE!

Yep! Pattern your birds and you will get some. Kee kee after birds flydown. By December it will be a littler harder to conceal yourself so use a blind or hide your movements well.

Great advice here. If you arent privy to exactly where they use your farm.....look for them to roost in trees on hardwood ridges on south and east facing slopes. They like to hop down out of the trees and stay flocked up on these sun warmed slopes. They can be easy to pattern if you just find them.

That's it. East side ridges facing the sun are great. If there's turkey around...that's where they'll be.
