Lacrosse Grange for me. I've walked the soles off of two different pairs the last few years. When the ones I have now give up the ghost I'll buy another pair. They do get warm from time to time but I don't mind.
No sir. I've seen your military service history. I don't like venomous snakes at all, but I almost never see one while turkey hunting. I've almost stepped on a couple copperheads, but we are talking about 20+ years of turkey hunting, and I hunt a LOT. I've never had a snake strike at me or get aggressive while turkey hunting. Now, summertime? That's a different story. That's when I worry about them.Better man than I am, I hate snakes.
What kind of gaiters you wearing?Switched over to Merrel gortex hiking boots and gaiters about 3 years ago and won't ever go back to rubber or heavy hunting boots. Granted snakes are not an issue where I generally hunt.
currently the first lite bramblers if im walking in taller grass or semi wet areas and its cool out. The Traverse ones if its hot and dry out just to keep bugs and debris out of my boots. What kind of gaiters you wearing?
I would think as a special forces guy, you would have tested out a bunch of boots.Just wondering what everyone wears. Depending on temps I either wear my muck field blazer if it's cooler or my lacrosse uninsulated bottom land boots. Along with my snake gaiters. Both are rubber. Just wondering for you guys that wear the leather boots like them especially with all the rain and crossing streams etc. I hate wet feet with a passion no matter the temps.
I have but I also pretty much have operated in the desert since 9-11. So not a lot of water crossing lol. I will give you my opinion though. I have a pair of Lowas that made it through some pretty rough stuff in Syria after 3 deployments. They are a hiking style boot. I highly recommend them. Little dirty and scuffed but stitching is great and so are the soles. Second favorite pair of boots are my OD Green jungle boots. Actually Iay give those Jungle boots a try this year during turkey season. Put a ton of kiwi on the leather and then use some silicone on the canvasI would think as a special forces guy, you would have tested out a bunch of boots.
We should ask you for recommendations.
Army Surplus insulated, n Arctic Shield boot covers. It worksJust wondering what everyone wears.
