Two years ago I was trying to pry a gobbler from his hens about 100 yds out in a field.
I got the hens fired up, and about a dozen came to the fence line, 8 steps in front of me. I was just leaning against a big tree. I actually squinted my eyes for fear of their seeing me. They were searching for the hussy making the racket.
They soon eased back out, so I started again.
This time the jakes came to the fence line and did the same thing. All this time, the gobbler was SLOWLY drifting closer.
Finally, the jakes eased off, and the third set of nasty talk got the big boy in range.
Most any camo pattern will work, as long as you are still.
