Feeding turkeys

I'm not sure how prevalent it is, but I've read one bad batch of aflatoxin tainted corn can kill a whole flock of turkeys.

I used to sling black oiled wild bird sunflower seed out at my house in rutherford county just to watch the dumb birds and they loved it. once the ground warmed up the whole field in the area they didn't come up to would grow sunflowers about knee high. deer loved bedding in it. then when the heads started falling i mowed it down and shot doves off it. and a bag lasted a long time spreading it out by hand but it would probably still be there come turkey season and may be baiting. not sure when you would typically plant sunflower. as stated in my other post I don't turkey hunt and haven't in a long time so I never worried if it was baiting. I guess it would depend on how many birds you have as to how long it would last. I would guess it would hold in a feeder unless the wind blew it out????
