I had a LONG dry spell. Took the boat to Davis Corner Thursday and got super skunked. Went and launched at Wilson boat dock at the end of Cairo Bend and caught 7 over 14". One was just shy of 2#. Had three decent ones jump off just before boating them and a couple that didn't measure - but was just happy to pull a fish out of the water.
I decided to do something I'm not crazy about. I'd thrown everything in the boat and resorted to flipping a 6" brown Senko into woody brush. Lost about three getting hung up but did catch some. I also tried my newly acquired skill of skipping under a dock.
Unfortunately I did kill one fish. He slammed my Senko and completely swallowed everything and he was one that didn't measure. What do you guys do when the hook is that deep? I have an extra set of pliers that are 14" but the fish was dead in well under a minute.
