Congrats again on a SUPER bird!! How long were his spurs?

The spurs are what hurt my scoring getting into first...
They are 1 and 3/16 1 and 2/16

"IF" ou nkow always being the word... but if they would have each had 1/16 more of an inch, he would been a top seeded bird :)

I AM STILL TICKLED TO DEATH with him.. even if he hadnt made top 25 I like him, and cant get over his beards. I have killed a few that had 11 inch beards, and wondered if I would ever find a bird that would near 12, didnt realize I would be blessed with 2 of them on one bird :)
Yep an awesome bird for sure Tony! I too have killed even triple beard birds, but total length on the 3 beards was just a lil over 21 inches. The longest single beard I have is right at 12 inches I think! Your right however the Spurs is where its at! If that bird would have had 1 1/2 spurs you would be way out front, with a Bow especially!

Come on guys we are making his head bigger and bigger now, he may not even be able to get into his truck!!! :D  :D

Great bird Tony!!! I hope you and Heather get her one this weekend, i will be waiting on the pictures!!!

Its about time you killed him! He was probably getting pretty dizzy riding around in your trailer for the last couple of months!

Congrats, awesome bird!!

LOL... I am gonna have to buy a bigger hat ;)
Heather and I put blisters on the feet today! It was slow going until around 1030, then at one time we had 6 different gobblers firing in different directions. This went on for about 45 minutes, then they shut up all around the woods. Never heard another one the rest of the day! Tough hunt today, but alot of fun!!! Had one of my best buds showing us around his neck of the woods... I can see why he is so skinny now :)

What broadhead did you use? Obviously not the Guillotine, haha. I'm gonna try to get one with the bow and Guillotine. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHKNl4lQ ... re=related

Yeah I have seen those broadheads. I am a bow tune freak though. I couldnt get consistant flight from those heads, and they were TOO HIGH to buy many. I actually use the same setup
for turkey as I do for deer. I used to back the bow draw weight off a little, but now I just leave it the same year round.
MUZZY is what I use. Love those heads. I have harvested everything I can think of with them.

LOL, yeah I was getting short on fuel money, so I had to put an end to all that running around!

Ended up going with a traditional full strut mount. I had thought really hard about a 3/4 strut gobbling, to show off the beards....but as many times as I had him in front of me in full strut (just out of confident range) I thought I would do a full strut for him!
One of my most recalled memories of him, was a morning I spent over 3 hours with him, he disappeared. I stopped calling 30 mins prior. An hour later he popped up on a ridge top gobbling his head off! I stared him down through the binocs, and he was up there in full strut just hammering! Almost like he was wanting top play cat n mouse some more with me... :)
