That is exactly right, and if you are looking to the north and a buck crosses on the cut line to your south, you may never even see him. When one does cross and you can't stop him, he's probably gone for good. Have to judge him and make it all work quick. It's a completely different type of hunting than what I'm use to but I'm enjoying it tremendously. Fixing to head to stand for day four.Best of luck Chief. One thing people don't realize is that Alberta is not hunting over a bait pile like Saskatchewan. You must see the deer while he's moving across a cut line and get him stopped for a shot. Do all that while judging his rack, knowing the distance, putting a fire solution into your gun and making a well placed shot. Oh yeah, it's 8 degrees too.
I don't think your pic uploaded. Wishing you success tomorrow!Day 4
Not a lot to report today. Highs today were mid 30's with 15 mph winds. Deer moved surprisingly well with everybody seeing deer including a few shooters but know one killed. I saw 10 does today but no bucks. Got back to the lodge and had a wonderful full course thanksgiving dinner. It was great. Gonna hit it again in the morning. Here's a pic of a buck from first of the week in the area I'm hunting.
I will absolutely do that as soon as I get a chance.Would love to hear your clothing system if you find the time. Even down to socks and boots lol
