I had the same thing happen to me. Twice since last Friday when I killed mine. I know the feeling.

I drug mine in 20 yds of stand. Walked another 20 to look at a rub. Doe came running up to 10 yds with a super buck in tow.
20 yds in scope and prayed they would continue toward my son……. Nope opposite direction and back to the thicket.

We shall return to continue the battle!!!!!
