Heard the story but like reading it better! Needle in the arm. All the Knoxville tarpon crazy guys are excited for you. I have never touched one but lost 5 now! It truly is the most insane thing I have done and that includes jumping off a 50ft bridge!! Don't tell my kid.
Ready to go again. This time my boat goes!! We need to get us one of those " dancing cages"( coined from a girl at a boat launch....supposedly from ALABAMA)

It wasn't on a fly rod, but just FYI, my "Dream Tarpon" came fishing with these folks: https://www.bigbullyoutdoors.com/
You might want to check them out. The Herzogs are great folks. I was there on what they call "The Hill Tide" that occurs in May in Boca Grande. Your best shot with the fly rod might be after the Hill Tide, late May and June when the schools are running the beaches. Capt. Herzog will suggest what's best. He and his wife Mallory are "good folk."
