Fines for misconduct

Let em celebrate, sheesh. No problem fining individuals for vandalism and destruction of property tho, but fining the schools is like fining Philadelphia for the BLM riots they allowed to happen. They could stop it, but they'd have to shoot someone to do it. Time for certain ones to be held accountable for their own actions seems to me.

I understand why fans and students storm the field after big wins. It's a way to celebrate with the team and it looks like a lot of fun.
I also understand why it's against the rules to do so. It's dangerous for all involved. Especially when a lot of the people are polluted.
If Tennessee had beat Alabama 15 years in a row I'd be ready to storm the field also but they shouldn't allow me to. Just my opinion.

I remember UGA storming the field against Tennessee 25 years ago. It's always been a thing and always will be. Not sure why fans set at home crying about things like that.
I was at the Liberty Bowl in 96 when Memphis beat Tennessee. I had to wait in the parking lot for my buddy that rode with me to storm the field and tear down the goalposts. It was well deserved. I do think it should be reserved for truly momentous occasions, but let the fans have fun. Some people just want to cry about everything.

Storming the field and tearing down the goal post is a tradition that the powers that be shouldn't be trying to end. When it happens, it typically for good reason.

Celebrating on the field doesn't bother me as long as the players and fans respect each other in the process. We al know that's not always the case but you're not going to stop 100,000 fans from rushing the field if they want to. It would take the national guard and even then that probably wouldn't work.

I don't understand it myself. NASCAR fans didn't rush the track even when HUGE events happened...Harvick winning the Atlanta race in the GM Goodwrench car after Dale Sr died. Or when Dale Jr won @ Daytona the next race after Sr died. Those were huge. People stood in the stands, cheered and cried and held up 3 fingers in remembrance. You used to be able to go down by the catch fences and experience the cars coming by at 200 mph but they don't let fans do that any more. I was at Talladega when the fans threw stuff on the front stretch at Jeff Gordon. The state troopers came running in from all directions and put an end to that quickly. They were throwing people to the ground and cuffing them and not being gentle. People got the idea really quick to stop. If universities want to stop it...they might need to look into that. Put up fences/barricades and if that don't stop people...start arresting individuals. If the schools really wanted to put an end to it...threaten to suspend any students caught on the field for a whole semester without a refund. You might not get em all but word would get around that they're not playing.

Yep, you let it be known that you enter the field you are subject to a body slam, suspensions, revocation of tickets/admission to games loss of scholarships and see how fast this BS stops.

I may be in the minority, but I am not a fan of tearing down goal posts in general, but definitely not when winning a regular season game. These teams' fans act like they have won 3 superbowls and the Mega Millions lottery when they beat a competitive conference foe on their home field. I do not get it. National Champs maybe, not a regular season game. My .02
