These pictures are from my Franklin County, Indiana lease.

My old Wildview cam finally konked out on me after about 6 years of good service. So I bought a Wildgame Innovations camera from Dicks. I put it out Saturday before last and checked it this past Saturday. 235 pictures in 7 days. I had a nice selection of bucks.

I have one buck that is an 11 pointer (I believe). I judge him to be low 130s gross and perhaps might net close to Pope & Young...what would you say? He is probably just 2.5 years old too. He would tempt me to shoot if he gives me a shot during bow season.

Then I got a bunch of pictures of 8 pointers.
As I have studied these pictures closely, looking at dates and times as well as coat coloration and patterns, I am convinced that all of these are different bucks, except perhaps the 2nd and last 8 pointer pic could be the same buck, I just can't tell for sure on that one. Some are full velvet and some are hard horned. Some are fresh out of velvet.

I really like the 8 pointer that curves inward. I would take him in a heart beat because I just like that kind of rack.

I think that 11 point might only gross from 120 to 125 but has a ton of potential, good looking group of deer

I do know one thing, you placed your camera in a heck of a spot. It looks like they really move through there. Nice bucks too

That camera is at the base of one of my better tree stands. All those bucks are a 15 yard broadside shot from that stand. I kinda like that... :D

Goshen, I hunt the midwest as well, and I will give you my opinion about the young 11ptr. If you are hunting mature bucks, I would no doubt pass that buck up in a heartbeat. That buck has the potential to be a true top-end buck in a couple of years.

I'll give you an example. In 2008, I willingly passed up a 140's 2.5 year old on my farm. In 2009, he grew into a 3 year old that almost grossed 170". If he would not have been shot in 2009, I firmly believe he could have been a 200" typical at 5.5 years old if not sooner.

Just something to think about if you are managing your property.

I couldn't agree more Quailman. That buck is going to be spectacular in another year or two.

I agree...passed one similar on my land. I think he'll be about 140 as a 3.5 if not better this year. If he comes by me he won't see 4.5.

Whats the setup like at this location Goshen?
