I shot a doe yesterday morning that was a bit odd.

Nothing about the hunt was abnormal until after field dressing the deer. Wanting to grab her by the ear and tail to drag her away from the gut pile is when I got the surprise. I grabbed her ear and went to grab the tail......nothing there but a nub! I killed a bobtail deer!

Anyone else ever seen this? My dad who has hunted far longer than me said he never had. What do you think caused it?
