First time with a .45 1911

I usually carry an HK45C but I love a good 1911!
 
We supposedly have a couple here that my father in law squirreled away in the 60s. His father and father in law were WW1 vets USN/USMC respectively. He swore that he had their .45s, and an Arisaka machine gun he brought home from Iwo Jima (QM2 on an LST). I found his brother's battlefield pick up CZ24, none of the others. I "need" the .45s for SASS Wild Bunch shoots.
I like 1911s, they actually fit my hand alright. My EDC is a different single stack, an issue Sig P6 9mm. If I can't hit it in 8 or 9, I won't hit it with 15-19…

Met a super nice British Commando recently and took him shooting today. He's shooting a 70 Series Colt Gov't model pictured above. He had never shot a 1911 before.
