Awesome ! Congrats !
That's rightDon't apologize for your success, congrats!!
That's right!!!Every deer is a trophy. Congrats!!!
Thanks everyone! I'm ready to get back out there now! I think I got the fever bad.
Unfortunately, we are moving down to North Mississippi next week (On a few acres!) so, I will need to take a couple weeks off, but I am ready to get back out and start scouting a new spot or two.
I appreciate the kind words and I am very proud of my little buck! The one antler will start a nice rattle bag collection, I suppose.
Congratulations. Clean kill, can't do better and size doesn't matter until/if it matters to you.I got one this morning! First deer in my 6 years in TN, and first time really doing this solo. I have been scouting a spot on the Wolf River WMA near Piperton since last fall and it finally paid off around 8:15 this morning when a young buck wandered out in front of me. He was just a spike, about 6-inch spike on his left side, lost his right at some point apparently. Nothing I'm mounting on a wall, but I'm really proud of being able to put in the time, about 2 dozen sits and learning a lot to finally have a freezer full of meat.
Shot looked like it was behind a bit and a gut shot, but amazingly it wasn't. He was quartering away, and it went right through the heart and left lung. He was dead, but his body didn't realize it for about 15-20 yards of running in a circle.
Sorry for the brag post on a not amazing deer, but it was huge for me and my motivation to keep hunting!
