What kind of glue do you recommend?..... What are some tips and tricks to keeping your work neat and clean?...

I use Super Glue Gel... I still tend to make a little mess from time to time...The Super Glue turns White and makes for a real ugly fletching job if you are not real neat....

I also use the gel... I have found that if you use too much then it will turn white. If you apply just enought to make a good adhere, it wont turn white. As odd as it may sound.. I heard once you fletch the arrow and everythign is dry and cure.. you can take an armour all wipe, and clean the fletches really nice and have no white mess left behind???

I use Fletch-Tite Platinum. I put a thin bead on the vane. Using a Bitzenburger, after I place the vane on the arrow, I have enough room to take a wet paper towel and wipe off any that has squeezed out. I do that right after I place the vane on the arrow before it dries. You don't need to do that with wraps that have designs on them though. I found the glue will smear the paint, or at least it did on some of mine.

Fletch-Tite Platinum is what I've used for years, works fine with feathers or vanes. Just make sure you rough up the shaft a bit with some scotch brite and don't over do it on the glue. AAE makes a nice little fletching jig for about $20 bucks with a 1 deg. off set. Works great for the AAE Max Hunter vanes that I'm using.
