Reckon they could combine spear season with it to appeal to the other 12 people , I swear things keep changing to give every person that wants something different during deer season won't have a start and stop date.

I'm in for 3 more weeks of hunting, funny clothes & all..

My flintlock season runs from November thru the 1st week of January..anyway so 3 more weeks after that with a 1 buck limit …0 antler less I think would be the great.

That would only leave about 6 weeks for cabin fever too set in before warm up.

Yep , lets screw small game hunters outta more time in the woods in favor of a big game animal that already has a 3.5 month season and in 40 years is gonna be in serious decline with an incurable herd wide disease, wouldn't put it passed'em to do it.

I listened to his proposal. It also included not wearing orange or fluorescent pink. He wants to dress in authentic frontier leather clothes and a coonskin hat like Davy Crockett so an August hunt or combining it with ML wouldn't work!

Cool as long as your not allowed to drive a modern vehicle to the hunting area or use onX , cameras, or any other modern device during the hunt. Oh, and you also need to find a checking station as you shouldn't have a phone to check the deer out with.

You could always buy a bow, noone is making you not archery hunt

or archery and give them a week....

Looks like there isn't a muzzle loader or a bow permit starting July 1, it only sez $42 permit to deer hunt, so everybody pays the same. There is also a bear permit. Lot of changes coming

I have a flintlock... but in season in January, no way... But honestly I think it would be better if we just had a hunting season... I hate the Bow season being as long at it is.. if they want to add a season like this, cut Archery in 1/2 length wise and add the flintlock season then...

We all would like to tweak the season to make it align
More with our interests in certain ways in sure, but all in all i feel we should leave it alone. Not perfect for my tastes but i feel it gives everyone ample opportunity to hunt the way they like without over exhausting the resource.

My thoughts exactly. Just use your flintlock during muzzleloader. Or use it during rifle season… not seeing a reason for a special season.
