Florida hires Texas defensive line coach Chris Rumph

I think your term is "solid hire". That's the one you used with Dr. Pepper man. Let's be honest for once: Florida could hire Jackson County Community College's volleyball coach to run the offense and you'd say it was a "solid hire". I guess it is possible that she could teach them to use a big boy potty, stop crapping their pants, and block the opponent instead of each other.

I never used the term for Debord since he was over figure skating at Mich. CJM has so far been a solid hire that pulled a good recruiting class together. Did I mention that he put a solid coaching staff together.

Rumph is a strong recruiter and proven coach. Pairing him up with Randy Shannon will make recruiting fun next year. Wrangler might have to find another topic.. :tu:

Thanks for making my point. Tennessee hired Debord so he automatically sucks. Had florida hired him he would be the second coming of Jesus in your opinion. You are almost as objective as the White House press secretary.

Rump his a good hire, improvement over Williams IMO. Apparently he had personality problems and could connect with recruits ether.

From all reports it looks like he, Williams, was asked to move on. It appears that he wasn't up for the grind of recruiting after leaving the NFL. Jefferson and Cowart didn't give him great reviews and I'm sure CJM took note. Everything I read. looks like Rumph is a good coach and great recruiter. Also looks like Jefferson will send in his letter in tomorrow and likes the new DL coach.

Yep, one of Texas's top recruiters. Might really help open up that Texas pipeline. :super:

For gators sake hope he has had nothing to do with that terrible defense they have had last couple years

I see you are bringing your wealth of knowledge to the Forum.... :tu: Texas was ranked # 25 in the country in total defense this past season. A good comparison would be UT at #36. Try again... :rotf: What was Debord offense last year?? The triple axle spin.... :smash: :smash: Also keep in mind that last couple years don't come in play since he was only at Texas one season. He was at Bama prior to that and I'm sure Bama had a good "D"... :tu:

Hmmmm.......ranked 25th in the country while playing a Big12 schedule vs 36th playing an SEC schedule. Not buying it. And then you go from comparing Texas defense to TN defense to comparing both defenses to TN offense and then back to Bamas defense. Good comparison. :tu: :tu:

Hmmmm....while at Bama in the SEC was ranked 5th in total D and 7th in rushing D. Year before that #1 in nation, and in 2011 another top ranked in the nation allowing the fewest yards per game since 1996.....in the SEC :tu:

So he left a #5 Bama SEC defense and dropped off to # 25 Big12 defense at Texas. Oh he good.

Keep telling yourself that! Top 25 for 5 years in a row at Clemson before 3 years a Bama. I know you don't want to acknowledge it, I understand! :rotf:
