I am gonna post some more as I get each step done and compare the finished product. :D
Yeah, I am bored.

Sat in stretch's backyard for like 5 years.
Didn't take that much work, just a new battery and a trip to work with me for the carb and she purrs like a kitten now.
Ok here are a few pics I took with my cell phone yesterday.

Re: Four wheeler ......... work in progress

Its the Model T of 4 wheelers Rachel. Amazingly, there are still a ton of those around.

Re: Four wheeler ......... work in progress

Thanks Upsman, those must be some great 4 wheels to last that long.

Re: Four wheeler ......... work in progress

The phrase 'being rode hard and put up wet' comes to mind...laffin

Re: Four wheeler ......... work in progress

didn't know those still existed:grin:
very good 4wheelers bk in the day
looks to be in decent shape tho as far as the plastics an seat
if u need to do any painting on it the stuff from walmart
krylon fusion works pretty good on the plastic had a cousin paint one a few years bk with it still looks good

Re: Four wheeler ......... work in progress

Krylon Fusion.... hmmmm thanks.

Actually I "think" it is a 1991 model. It was bought new and then stretch ran up on a newer, nicer 4WD model and bought it.
Parked this one under a tarp in the back yard.
Original tires still have the little tits sticking out all over them. Oxidation was all over all the plastic.
I will try to get some pics of the plastic now if it will quit raining today.
Runs like a sewing machine.

Re: Four wheeler ......... work in progress

The plastic actually looks brand new now.
Only problem is, I used an SOS pad. :D
Scratches all over it.
Looks great when it is wet though. ;)
Planning on going with camo clad on the plastic unless I change my mind.

Re: Four wheeler ......... work in progress

wipe some mop and glow on the plastic. Just make sure it's as clean as you want it, cause it will seal in any dirt/grease. Soak a absorbing rag with it, and just like painting put it on even. It is washable a few times before you need to apply another coat. WD-40 works well too, but is slick and gone the first time you wash it.

Re: Four wheeler ......... work in progress

Just like a "plastic floor" it will shine up plastic fenders. I usually just put tire shine on a rag, or even silocone spray on mine before I go riding. I spray the insides of my fenders good. Looks good on the way, then the mud falls off better while riding, and sprays off better to make clean up easier. It only takes once or twice of putting the tire shine or silocone on the wrong pieces to figure out what you want it on and what you don't lol. You have to watch using the spray and not let it "mist" onto your foot pegs or seat cover.

Also baking soda works pretty good to clean white plastic. It kind of acts as a mild wet sanding while cleaning.

Hand cleaner rurbbed in by hand on riding clothes or about any stain before washing usually works great too.

Re: Four wheeler ......... work in progress

Very cool, I will try the mop and glow for sure.

Hate to make it too pretty cause I really think that camo clad would look awesome.
However, that will be more money for hunting season and gas though. :D
