I had a lot of pictures of Frank this year. I named him Frank in honor of a guy I used to hunt with a lot. And, you know - "Frank the Tank." Probably the best deer I've ever had on camera. Definitely the best one I've ever specifically hunted. I never saw him in person. He would show up on camera every week or two. Always in the dead of night. Even in the peek rut weeks, he would stand in this salt lick for 30 minutes or more. Occasionally with does around. Sometimes with smaller bucks pestering those does. Frank didn't seem to care. And he definitely didn't seem to wear down or loose weight as the season went on. He made it through the season unscathed. Never even broke a tine. I'm afraid the diabetes will get him before next season, but it gives me something to look forward to come October. He would score plenty, and I wish I could have found out exactly how much. But I would really love to know what he weighs.

Everybody just thought it was EHD and CWD, little did they know frank has been eating all the food!! :rotf: :rotf:

He's so heavy, he has a protuberant forehead. I've never seen a buck that heavy in the south. Sounds like he's nocturnal to boot. Your gonna need a miracle to get him. Good luck!

Boy he is a tank ! He's probably sterile or testosterone levels extremely low , could be a reason he apparently don't fight or lose weight as the rut does not effect him . Heck of a buck though for sure .

I thought about that. He definitely didn't run himself ragged or act like much of a fighter. But I think "swelling" of their neck coming into the fall is directly tied to a spike in testosterone. And he's definitely got a neck.

He produces testosterone just fine.... otherwise he wouldn't grow a normal rack and shed the antlers with the drop in testosterone at the end of the season.

He probably does have an excess of other steroids, probably an adrenal tumor, similar to Cushings syndrome in humans.

Since hes nocturnal, the best way to kill him is to stomp through his bedding area banging on a pot with a metal spoon. Try to get within 50 yards before you start banging. If you startle him enough, he will have a heart attack and fall over, then you can collect your trophy. :)

Haha what a beast. I bet no deer wanted to go horn to horn with him.

Funniest part of all the pictures. First set of pics I got of him with shed antlers, a deer that appears to be a button buck squared off with him. Then there is a pic of the button hitting him in the side and Frank tucks his tail and scampers away. I like to imagine the button walked around all fall and winter thinking "As soon as this bucket of lard looses those antlers, I'm stomping his ***."
