G5 Expert II + Mathews Reezen = Not what I thought

Re: G5 Expert II + Mathews Reezen = Not what I tho

Centershot is the measurement from the riser to the center or your rest. It should fall somewhere between 10/16 and 12/16. Cam lean is whether or not the idler wheel (top cam) is leaning right or left at full draw. If it is leaning you would have to compensate by moving your centershot in or out. If the rest arm is hitting the riser it sounds too far right.

That's a lot of tuning to be honest and you might not want to mess with it right now if you can find a rest that is working for you.

Good Info JayMc, I plan on a new rest was going to try for it before saturday but I think I can't put it where it hurts saturday with this one!!

For now anyways, I have the worse luck with Drop Aways, 1st is was Muzzy with my Hoyt and now the G5 with my Mathews!@!

First time I told you to get a trophy taker. The second time I told you to get a Ripcord. Lmao. Guess you should have listened to ole Mielke!

Two dropaways that I have been using for the last 3-4 years and have had absolutely NO problem or issue with: Ripcord and the Mathews dropaways! I buy the newest mathews bows every year ( since 2003) and have always used one of these two rests and never any issues!

Spit, I have the Ripcord on my Reezen and have no problems at all with clearance.

I'll check it out, does it lock upright like the QAD or does it raise with the Draw??

It can either lock in the upright position or raise during draw.

Ripcord or Trophy Taker....

But dang Spit. You got most of the post in the Archery Forum since you got that Reezen... LOL

Those are the only two drop away rests I still own . I like the Ripcord the best out of the two.

Re: G5 Expert II + Mathews Reezen = Not what I tho

I've been shooting the G5 on my Iron Mace all summer without any issues what so ever. It sucks having problems this close to season. Hopefully you will get it straightened out. Good luck.......

Cam lean sounds like a marketing ploy to cover up for warped limbs to me. ;)

Cam lean usually happens on the idler wheel of a single cam from unbalanced cable harness ends , and can be corrected by twisting up the difference on one harness end. ;)

Very easy to fix. It can happen on a dual/hybrid cam bow too if a static yolk is used instead of a floating yolk.

Hunt - you should know better than to question JayMaximus :D

Just referring to the bow in question. The worst to correct for cam lean are Binary and Trinary cams that have the cables slaved to the same side on both cams .
