This may be the wrong place to ask this question. It might be better in reloading or rifles. Does anyone have experience with Sierra tipped Game King bullets? I've loaded some 130 grain TGK Game Changer bullets in 6.5 creedmoor. They seem to shoot very accurately but today was the first time I actually used one on a deer. The result was a massive entrance wound and no exit! Killed the deer with no problem but I was shocked at the result. Anyone else have anything like this happen or maybe it's just a freak.

I have lots of experience with Sierra Game King BTSP's in TN and out west at up to 420 yards. IMO the best bullets made. Great ballistic coefficient and leave a nasty would channel but also an exit would every single time (at least in 7mm Rem Mag). Not sure about in the 6.5 Creedmoor, but highly recommend trying if available.

The tipped gameking is more of a long range bullet than a short range bullet. I would guess it fragmented upon impact, especially if it was shorter range.

I have used them for a while with 30-06 loads. I have never lost a deer with them and have had some amazing blood trails and exit wounds. I have never had one not exit. I would defiantly try them again and see what you think.

Don't use ballistic tips under 100 yards if want an exit hole. They tend to fragment at terminal velocity impacts from high powered rifles, unless they're monolithic. They work great in slower calibers like my 44mag and 45-70 rifles which are fairly slow. Use regular soft points or monolithic up close.

I've used only tipped bullets for about 20 years. Ballistic tip, SST, ttsx and even lever evolution in 4570 and never had a problem. This is my first experience with the tipped Sierra Game King it just seemed awfully unusual.
