The wife and I are taking a mini-vacation to Gatlinburg this weekend. I would like to catch a few trout, but have no idea where to start. I am going to be using ultralight spinning gear. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There is a nice trail along Abrams Creek in Cades Cove.
Little River -
Metcalf Bottoms picnic area
The East Prong below Elkmont Campground
Middle Prong close to the "Y" at Treemont Road

These are good places to start and all have easy road access.

If you don't mind city fishing they stock in city limits and you can catch fish just about anywhere you fish and can use live bait.Must buy a Gatlinburg permit though I think they cost 2.00 per day.My brother worked at Rocky Waters Hotel and would fish right behind the Hotel.

Can you keep them this time of year?

Thanks for all the information. Hopefully I can catch a couple.

Well, learned I'm not a trout fisherman, but I did manage to catch this guy!
