With me getting back into hunting I have to buy everything over I am about to buy mossberg patriot 308.i can push the budget to get a 3-9x40 scope from vortex crossfire ll or pay about half get bushnell banner dusk& dawn 3-9x40mm scope so what would you do having hard time picking

I have both scopes the vortex is on a Savage 308, I like the Bushnell better. Nothing wrong with the vortex at all but the main reason is it was on one of the better Savage packages and it has the BDC reticle( I didn't get to choose). For some reason I just don't like that, it doesn't bother my son at all. I guess I am so old school I just want the plain reticle. I don't think you could go wrong either way . Both are good scopes!

I have the crossfire ii hog hunter with the illuminated reticle…have killed hogs with it just no deer…I love it though in low light with that fire dot on it. It's 3x12x56 and was under 300$

One more thing I have the Mossberg Patriot in a 243. I love the LBA trigger it's very similar to the Accu trigger on Savage and very easy to adjust. The thing is a tack driver. I am sure you will like that 308!
