Dry ice and remember to put a towel or newspapers in between it and the meat. We've done that, and also put in deep freezer and ran generator on the way back.
Most of the markets out there carry it. The processing plant may have it, or the can tell you where to find it.Thank you for all suggestions!I have never used dry ice. I see locally it's available at Publix. Is it hard to find out of state?
i've driven from pagosa springs to northern ms plenty of times with elk in the cooler. We use dry ice and then duct tape the cooler lids , and by the time we arrive back in the south, we still have a little dry ice left.Northern New Mexico Chama area
