He's showing up weekly. Seems to be small bodied compared to other 8 pointers showing up?

What is amazing to me is I have smaller racked bucks coming in that are much bigger bodied. This one you are right about, appears to be younger and with a good start on antler growth what kind of potential is there as he ages.

Good question LSU, I would also like to see an answer.

Questin for someone with antler growth knowledge; once to the point of seeing a rack with countable points will he grow from the ends and not from base at this time, I quess what i'm asking is will a buck get wider after they get to this point by growing from the base instead of from end of the points outward?

All antler growth occurs at the tips (not from the base once the base has formed). See those "bulbs" at the tips of each tine? That is where the antler is actively growing. In fact, as long as a tine or beam has the bulbous tip, it is still growing long. Once it stops growing longer, the tip narrows down to a point. Look at the browtines on the pictured buck. They no longer have the bulbous tip at the end. They have finished growing and won't get any longer. But all of the other points and beam are still growing.

Thanks BSK, interesting stuff. Any idea of age, I'm terrible with that?
