Glad you're doing well. Did they just have to set it or did you have to get screws, pins, and / or plates in it?

He had to go in set it, check the tendons that tore, and then put two screws and a plate in it.

while I crawled probably 250 yds to the boat. .... I might could have made it alone,

Not to make light of your ordeal, but I about cracked up thinking of you crawling with all of your gear and a turkey somehow strapped to your back :) !

Hope you heal soon, and glad that your cousin was nearby.

Lol.... My wife wasn't happy that I didn't ditch the turkey. I wasn't leaving without it. :) I did lose my favorite hat in the ordeal though.

Yikes, sorry to hear about your injury that really sucks. Congrats on the bird though. I hurt my knee several years ago on my way to a downed bird and thought my season was over, I pressed through the pain. If I lived closer I'd try and get you out which is possible on the right piece of ground.

Thanks man! We will see what the next few weeks have in store. I am supposed to be on crutches for 6 wks though. What bothers me the most is not being able to get my son out the rest of the season.

When I broke mine it was about shin high and I didn't have to have any of that. Just a cast from hip to toe for 8 weeks. My sister in law broke hers about like you from what it sounds like and have to have screws and plate put in. She was running barrels on her horse and he slipped making the turn and rolled on her leg. That was pushing 20 years ago.

Hate to hear that, congrats on the turkey and get well soon. I imagine you were probably in some steep country which made crawling off that hill easier in some ways but harder in others. I guess that seat in the boat is about to be used a lot .

Yeah, it was steep, but at least it was down hill. I'll have to learn how to sit down and fish now. :)
