Got my new crossbow!

I will try and do a quick review tomorrow. I bought a Barnett Explorer 400. WOW it is fast! WOW it is light! MAN the scope sucks. I blew right through my bag target. Sure it is pretty worn out but just wow! I had it leaning against a tree and the damn thing went through and stuck andinch into the wood!

I got it pretty close on the sight in. Not sure of the overall accuracy because my scope sucks so bad.

I have one at home. I may need to buy one for Kansas now! Since I broke my ribs, I haven't been able to fully pull my new bow. Well this bad boy shoots TWICE as fast as my new compound!

I replaced my scope last year with a Vortex Crossfire made for crossbows. I found the scope is a little brighter and bigger. The crosshairs are set at 40 yards with the 30 and 20 yd markers above the 40 yd crosshairs. The sight in procedure that they provide is spot on and easy.

Depending on your budget and existing equipment, the Sig Sauer 2.5-8X SIERRA3BDX with a Sig Sauer BDX range finder would be an impressive set up. The scope and rangefinder are paired via bluetooth. This scope has a digital retical (which you can program) which will allow you to use the entire spectrum of 2.5 - 8X. If you use the BDX range finder, it will give you a fire dot to aim based on the distance. I would look at this option a little more serious if you do not currently have a range finder - and need one.
 
Thanks for the advice guys! I HAD to purchase a new target yesterday. I got the Yellowjacket crossbow target rated for 450 FPS. That did the trick! I shot at two of my old ones, unfortunately one with a brand new arrow. The arrow went through the target, through my wooden fence and hit a tree where it broke in half and was shattered.

Then I tried an old arrow in a Buck Commander target I've had for a long time. It went in so deep it ruined the fletching! So that is quite a bit of wasted money, so I went to Academy and got the correct target=problem solved!

I was able to sight the crossbow in a LOT better than in Kansas! The wind out there is INSANE! It was touching arrows so I assume that is close enough. I'm going to see if I can get my old scope to work, but it wouldn't adjust high enough. The one that is on the bow SUCKS! Even the rings suck!
