Very cool.
It is not the angle of photo. I zoomed in this from trail camera photo. His eyes look like this when you see him live.To me, it looks like the angle of the picture. The clear of the lense maybe reflecting/refracting the green from the grass. Just a guess, but it is cool looking.
Manes on deer are an ancestral trait. That means, deer used to have manes and that genetic code still exists in their system, although it is no longer expressed. However, for about 1 in 10,000 deer, it "accidentally" does get expressed. This is similar to the fact that a small percent of human children are born with ancestral tails (we, as a species, used to have tails). The largest buck I've ever killed had a mane. I asked the taxidermist to preserve it, and he did. Looks quiet cool....but I got a 7pt with a mane and hell naw it ain't a Shelton pony lmao
Only decent photo we have that shows close up of eyes. Thanks for your interest.Looks like a mounted hoax , let's see a pic of the whole deer.
The taxidermist sure screwed up the ears if this is the case….Looks like a mounted hoax , let's see a pic of the whole deer.
