What do yawl think about these public hunters that kill a deer on public, drag it to the parking area, field dress it there, and leave that pile of nasty. I've seen this in the past and today my brother saw it. WTF are they thinking?

I will drag one to a more convenient spot- say, out of the field or down to a flatter spot. Never to a parking lot or road.

I shot a hog Sunday that died in the road, and I carried the gut pile off to not be inconvenient to others.

Ive yet to understand why anyone would drag a deer anywhere with the guts in it😂
I don't do public, but I never gut until I get the deer where I can load it in my truck. As I posted recently, I gutted next to my truck, but I haul the gut pile out to the wood line where scavengers can clean it up. I wouldn't leave it in a common area though.

Gut it where it falls. Hunters tend to be a pretty disrespectful bunch. It's very common to see hunters leave gut piles on the golf course on this one area I hunt every now and then. This is despite the park telling every single hunter to not do that. That's the sort of thing that gets access cut off.

A parking area is one thing, but disrespecting a golf course is despicable!

Man I have to completely disagree here!!!

Let's be logical, I'd predict the vast majority of these probably 90 percent plus of These are roadkills scooped up off the roadside and thrown into the bed of a pickup truck. The deer is then salvaged to the best of their ability and the remnants get left right there. Mostly by low life people who can't use a bit more effort to be more discreet.

I'm not buying it that these deer are dragged long distances and then cutup and left for everyone to see.

That's ridiculous. That doesn't really make you a bad hunter as much as it makes you a raging Ahole. Who would think that's ok?

I mostly do gut where it drops but I hunt private and can pull the UTV close. Don't have to worry about dragging the open cavity for a mile.

We also setup a gambrel where we all park. If light is poor, I'll load up and go there so I can throw the truck lights on it. It's setup over in the grass several feet away from the gravel though. Yotes usually mop it up in less than 24 hrs.

I hunt only on my personal farm so I can't relate to public land hunting. However I do tend to drag mine with the guys in it some times if they fell near an area I have a stand.

I usually am planning ahead on where to hunt the following day and I have once hunted the same area the following morning after leaving a gut pile within site of my stand.

The dang crows on the gut pile drove me freaking crazy the next day. Loudest most annoying birds ever.

I pick them up in the tractor bucket, come back to the garage, where I have water and light. I like gutting them while they are waist high on me in the tractor bucket, easier on my back. Let everything fall out in a rubber bucket. Skin and quarter hanging in the garage, then take the guts and carcass to the bottom all at once.

Can't understand why anyone would drag a deer on public and gut it by a parking area.
