In the past two days, I have talked with my land owners and they told me they have good water still. But although they have seen a lot of deer, they have seen no sign they using the surface water. I'm talking about ponds and creeks.

Oddly enough, in walking the creek behind the house, I too saw few tracks.

Go figure??? It is dang sure dry so, what's up with that??

Actually, the honeysuckle is still pretty green. That is about all that is.

I saw 4 different mud puddles on the 4th of July. All had multiple tracks.

Also, a creek & big river within 200 yrds of puddles.

Deer seem to like puddles a lot more than ponds or flowing water. In NE, we had a stand over a large mudhole n a woods road. Always good for a doe or two.

lots of creeks where I hunt, still have water in them...a couple of nearby lakes as well..

Deer can and do get water in many many places you wouldnt think of.
