Have You or Have You Not Connected Opening Day

I have never killed a deer on opening day. Anybody else been lucky enough to take one opening day?

i killed an 8 pt on opening day about 10 yrs ago. it's got to be a big buck now to shoot opening day. it's usually too hot to mess with a dead deer.

been a while but had a stretch of about 4 years of killing a great buck opening day of the bama season. Of course that was back when I actually had time to go down there to hunt whenever i wanted (pre kids)

Not on a deer but in the 09 deer season I took a turkey on opening day of archery.

Shot a buck my first ever opening day of archery.
Got a doe last year opener.

Passed deer several opening mornings. Just too excited to be in the woods and no deer dumb enough to stand 1/4 away at 15 yds for 10 minutes waiting for me to get settled down to shoot.

nope not yet. Came very close a couple of times. First time saw the doe. She got to 15 yds and stopped broadside and was looking away. Drew back and thats when all heck broke loose. failed to see the other 2 does to my right but they did see me. tails were flying everywhere.

I killed a buck one afternoon. Didn't find it till the next day so I wouldn't count it. Never killed one in AM...guess i'll have to wait till next year.
