HB 1618

you just repeated what i said. if kentucky is on the decline because of alfatoxins why dont they stop feeding???
quail went away with the release of round up!!
corn doesnt provide a nesting and fawning area but a wide open food plot does?? yep makes perfect sense!!!!!!!
Kentucky turkeys ARE on the decline. Aflatoxins surely have some amount of impact on that. How much? I don't know how anyone could actually calculate that.

Why don't they outlaw baiting? The most likely reason is lawmakers who enjoy the privilege of "hunting" over a pile of corn on their favorite campaign donor's farm. Same reason that, unfortunately, it will be legalized in TN some day.

As food plots are left to grow and seed out, they become tall and thick. Everyone manages them differently but plenty of landowners let them grow into bedding and nesting cover for the Spring and Summer months.

Turkeys are in decline for many reasons - increased populations of coyotes, wild hogs, and other nest raiders (which get propped up by piles of corn) protections on hawks, increasing numbers of hunters, fewer places for turkeys to live, roundup and other crap sprayed on things they eat, and aflatoxins. We all know that people bait illegally in TN, but the occurrence of bait would grow significantly if it were legalized. So now whatever effect that aflatoxins are having on turkeys would increase. Why would Tennessee want that?

Just sent my letter to the representatives of Rutherford County where I used to live and my parents still live.

Everyone, please contact your legislators. Arguing about it on TNDeer won't have an impact, our voice (hopefully) will.

It's SB0869 now

Done....Sent email to my Rep and shared my concerns....Thanks for the reminder.

Except they don't, they just say the do. I have seen it countless times, some even went as far as to post pictures of them removing it. Kind of obvious. When your neighbor has a pile of corn, it affects your hunting experience. Total BS. Everyone wants a shortcut.
I do hear what your saying. I quit feeding deer pellets 30 days prior to opening day. I fight the same fight with neighbors like you. But with that said I want the bill to pass. It want make that much difference to the law Biden hunter.
