I set up in some woods where I heard a gobble yesterday. Called a few times and just sat there for maybe half an hour or so. No turkeys answered
I was sitting there typing some crap on the now-locked limb shooting thread (good riddance) and I almost jumped when a turkey gobbled close by over my left shoulder. I repositioned and made a soft call back at him. After a couple minutes he gobbled once more. Then all I could hear was psst vroooom... But couldn't see him for about 5 minutes. He spat n drummed and finally I saw a red head. Got the camera on and video going, then got the gun up on him. By this time he had noticed me and walked to the left and started to putt. Soon as he cleared the screen on my camera, I shot him. quick hunt and good day in the woods. Met up with rockhound at the store and went back and waded in the creek which felt great.
One of my smallest toms, 18 lb 10 oz 7.75" beard 7/8" spurs. Doesn't make a difference when he comes in drumming....
