Heisman

Peyton did'nt win either, just
Fact
For someone that doesn't follow the NFL, you sure follow the NFL.
Never said did not follow the NFL. Please try and keep up. What I sad was I do not WATCH the NFL.

I enjoy following the ALABAMA players on their NFL careers post ALABAMA, where they land and their stats. I also follow some of the hyped of key players in College football to see how they are doing to see how they are doing.

Now that's going out on a limb! Maybe you missed it: Hooker tore his ACL. That's going to affect his draft stock.

It's not the ACL injury that will be the reason Hooker isn't taken in the first round. Don't get me wrong. I think he's a very talented QB and some NFL team should get a really good QB at a second or third round bargain who may just end up being the best QB in his draft class when all is said and done. The orthopedic surgeons work wonders with ACL tears nowadays. Just look at Jameson Williams or Jeffrey Simmons, both suffered ACL tears and went first round.

Hooker won't be taken in the first round, not because of talent, but because of his age (same for Will Levis). Hooker turns 25 this coming January. He's only one year younger than Joe Burrow, but Joe will be starting his fourth NFL season next September while Hendon will be a rookie. Justin Fields and Trevor Lawrence are both two years younger than Hooker, but will be starting their third NFL seasons next September and have obviously made it. In the NFL, QBs usually take at least two or three years to show if they've got it or not. By then, Hooker will be a 28 or 29 year old and will the team that drafts him want to extend him another four or five years when he'll be a mid-30s QB at the conclusion of his second contract? And if he doesn't work out, his trade value as a 30 something QB will be much less than would be the trade value for say a Zach Wilson who is currently 23 and on a rookie contract? Although Zach Wilson's trade value will probably be minimized for other (cough spoiled brat head case cough) reasons, that won't be an issue for Hooker.

Again thank you for your insight. Someone that understands the NFL draft. And someone that understands HH draft potential outside some silly lame injury excuse that won't have anything to do with his 2nd or 3rd round draft potential.

But Levis will be taken in the first round. I don't buy the age excuse. I rally don't know why Hooker stock is so low. He makes good decisions, had an above average arm, and can scramble. Maybe I'm missing something since I don't watch a lot of UT football.

Don't get too full of yourself. The NFL is also the league where teams draft guys like Mitch Trubisky #2 or Baker Mayfield #1 or Zach Wilson #2 or trade away a boat load of picks to move up and pick Trey Lance #3.

There's the contract that I described. The two other age-related factors I think are (1) was the guy good just because he was older, more physically mature, experienced, and (2) the reality of athletic peak. The first factor shouldn't apply to Hooker and Levis. They both had good years in 2021 and didn't just burst onto the scene in 2022. There are examples of college players balling out in their year 5 or 6 and it was clearly a result of just being more physically mature than the 19-21 year old opponents they were playing against. The second is simply a reality for both Hooker and Levis. Not sure if it still is, but back in my glory days age 29 was considered the athletic peak age for a male and after that an athlete's ability declined fast. Sure, there are unicorns like Brady, Rodgers, and Brees (and even for them it was literally a collapse in arm talent from one season to the next). Hooker and Levis will both be north of age 29 at the conclusion of their rookie contracts. But the reality of the human body, even the bodies of professional athletes that take great care of their bodies, is that Hooker and Levis start their athletic decline during their second NFL contract (and that's the big money contract).

Well we know what they thought of HH over Brycey boy. 😂
Well Brycey Boy as you try to paint him negatively with you limited and juvenile vocabulary sits in the top 10 of all time Heisman winners. While Hendy girl could not even get cab far to the after party. See you on the 50 :)

Get help man. Seriously. Mental illness needs treatment. I don't know if they let patients use computers in the nervous hospital, but hopefully that's what's happening here. If that's the case the treatments don't seem to be working, but maybe there will be a breakthrough.

Yeah, the guy is delirious and has something going on not quite right
It appears to be the same mental illness Harvey Updyke suffered from. Hendon Hooker is just a fine Christian young man and a role model kids can look up to. But since he played for Tennessee this guy hates him. It's not normal or healthy. I would bet my farm he celebrated when Hendon went down.

That's low. I certainly did not and even said I hated to see that. I hate to see anyone injured regardless of team affiliation. I am all for powering a team down and punishing them on a play. If a QB goes for it and exposed hes gonna get hit. HH injury was just a freak thing that happens. Sorta like Tua Hip injury. You just don't see those things coming.

Weirdo 🤡

See you on the 50 you are Harvey Updike. Prove me wrong
