Help with turkey gun

I love this forum! People on here are very helpful. I hardly hunt in tn and this is the first forum i go to for information. People over here in Arkansas all act like they know some kind of secret and are not willing to help people. I know I'm just rambling here but thanks to all the folks on Tn deer for the help of your fellow sportsman!

yeah man there are some good folks around here. You will find some bickering back and forth but 90% of the folks that post alot mean well and are down to earth humble guys (and girls)

the Long Beard section is my fav though, seems A LOT less arguing then say the serious deer threads. Guess turkey hunting is just not a popular which is fine by me lol

I totally agree! I check the turkey forum everyday! Y'all are truly blessed to have such a great turkey hunting state! Our number are way down in Arkansas. Duck hunting is what it's all about here. I would trade our ducks for tn turkeys any day of the week!

Hey Griz. Have you found me an Old School Camo Remington 1187 yet???

Looking everyday man!!!

AR turkey,

I couldn't agree more. I've asked/stalked a lot of threads on here and found out more information that I ever dreamed of. Real class acts on here. I'm mulling over a Stoeger P-350. Looked at one today and it felt really good. Plus, it was only a little over my initial price range.

Casey i am a Stoeger man for sure, they make a very very fine gun. I own both the M2000 and the M3500 and could not be happier. There are a few other fellows on here that shoot them as well, they are great guns.

The P-350 is very good gun and you wont be disappointed. it is based on the Benelli Nova which is a fine pump.

Having said that i personally have not shot one but having a few stoegers i personally am a fan of them. They are not flashy and dont have bells and whistles but they are great guns and made to be in the field.

also just to add, if you get one with a regular stock you can always get the pistol grip stock for it as well (not that you cant with the 870 and others as well) but in BLACK the steady grip stock for the 350 is like $80.

also if you do end up with that one and it doesnt come with a turkey choke or other chokes i may have a few factory ones you can have.

Thanks, Ren. I may take you up on it. So far, the Stoeger is pulling away from the rest. I like the feel of the 870, but just don't feel comfortable with the breech release being on the left of the trigger guard. Just doesn't seem natural for me. The Stoeger, on the other hand, reminded me a lot of the 590, but it seemed a little lighter and better balanced.

I thought so, too. Still keeping my eye out for anything else, though. Have a feeling that this is going to just be a gut feeling. I've researched this thing to death at this point.

Thanks for all of the help, everybody. I ended up going with the 870 express that they had at the local Academy sports. It's pretty basic, but was only $269 and I don't know that you can argue with 60 years of success. Taking it out this weekend to put it through the paces. Thanks again!
